The sunny Mediterranean island is an excellent choice for boosting your academic and business career in Europe.

In the past 2 years, Malta has been making the right headlines around the globe:
✔ It has been the country with the highest budget per capita dedicated to helping inhabitants and companies during the pandemic.
✔ One of the places with the most swab tests taken to contain Covid-19 infections.
✔ Ranked amongst the top 3 nations to first reach herd immunity, thanks to its successful vaccination programme.

With almost 80% of its adult population fully vaccinated, the island is more than geared up to get back on track. Elementary and Secondary Schools, along with English Schools have now resumed face-to-face classes and from the 1st of July, the wearing of mandatory facemasks in the streets will be gradually lifted.

More restrictions are expected to be eased in the coming weeks and this is not going unnoticed by international students currently making study travel plans. Some are, in fact, already on their way to Malta, the island that is expected to have the highest growing economy in the Eurozone for 2022. (Latest European Commission economic forecast)

This article is mainly aimed at those students who are planning to choose the Maltese islands, for those who are currently studying at LSC Malta and even for those MBA graduates who have already received their British degrees and are currently on a work residence permit in the country.

1. MBA Partial Tuition Scholarships at LSC Malta
International Students with the English Language requirement (IETLS 6.0 or equivalent) could be eligible for a Partial Tuition Scholarship of up to €1,000 at the London School of Commerce Malta (LSC Malta). Those students who require English preparation before starting their MBA programme can now avail themselves of up to 4 months of Academic English for free! (*Terms and Conditions Apply)

2. Get Qualified Scheme — Get up to 70% of what you paid for your MBA programme.
This is an incentive applicable to people who have followed a course of studies leading to a certification, diploma, MBA degree and/or post-graduate degree courses. Upon successful completion, the student will benefit from a tax credit enabling them to recover up to 70% of the costs of their respective academic programmes. Learn more about the scheme here!

3. Unlimited free public transport
Students in Malta have been benefitting from unlimited free public transport since 2019. This scheme has proven to be very successful and will hopefully be extended into the coming years and students will not have to pay €21 for their monthly unlimited public transport service anymore.

4. Work up to 20 hours per week while studying
As a student enrolled on an academic programme, you will have the possibility of working part-time while studying. Job positions and salaries will depend on your English level, qualifications, and the programme you are following in Malta. People following business and MBA programmes are highly sought after for head-hunters.

5. Stay up to 9 months after you complete your studies
Due to the great need of workers on the island, the government is giving the option to graduates to extend their stay by 9 extra months for job searching. The idea of this measure is to retain qualified professionals who will continue to contribute to the country’s impressive economic growth.
