The island ranks as one of the safest countries in the world, the second-highest economic growth and the lowest unemployment rate in the Eurozone.

Malta has become a popular destination to learn and to improve your English in a natural environment. You will be exposed to many different English accents, expressions and vocabulary that will develop your language skills.

8. Public Transport with one of the lowest fares for students

Students in Malta benefited from unlimited free public transport in 2019 and hopefully, they will have the same advantage in 2020. Just €21 for your monthly unlimited public transport service.

9. Safest country in the world

Natural disasters are less likely to occur and the crime rate is one of the lowest in Europe. The island was also chosen as the safest for women and travellers.

10. One of the best economies in Europe

The Maltese GDP growth in 2019 stood at 5%, the second highest after Ireland. It is expected to be the highest economic growth in the EU over the next two years.

11. Affordable student life

Tuition fees are less than half of what students normally pay for a master’s degree in the UK, Australia, the USA or Canada. Monthly living expenses vary between €500 and €700 including accommodation and food.

12. Students discounts

Do not forget to have your student ID at all times. Students will have access to special discounts in hundreds of establishments, festivals, events, activities, gyms and restaurants on the island.

13. Free Wifi

Malta is a pioneer in free public internet connection. You can connect to WiFi in places such as on the bus, at parks, in public squares and government premises.

14. Best Weather Year Round

Be prepared for the best weather year-round in Europe with 300 days of sunny weather a year and temperatures in ‘’winter’’ between 10 °C and 15 °C during the day.

15. Cultural events and entertainment

There are hundreds of places to visit international music festivals, and other activities can be found in Malta, Gozo and Comino throughout the year.

16. Visit famous film spots

‘Midnight Express’, ‘Gladiator’, ‘Troy’, ‘Agora’, ‘Munich’ and ‘Popeye the sailor man’ are some of the films that have been shot on the island. Even one of the most viewed series in the world: ‘Game of Thrones’ chose Malta as the setting for a few of its first episodes. You might feel that you are in a movie everywhere you go.

If you also like scuba diving just chose the academic programme you most like and take the first flight to Malta. The island is one of the best places in Europe to scuba dive and there are dozens of companies that offer these services.
